RYA Safe and Fun

Our sport should be safe and fun. You have the right to be treated with respect and should show respect to others. If you are worried about the way another young person or an adult is treating you or someone else, speak to your Club or Class Association Welfare Officer or the RYA safeguarding team

Mental health care pathway referral process

1. Raise your concern via a sailor, parent, coach or staff member

Should you have any concerns with a fellow sailor, coach or staff member in the RYA, do not hesitate to raise you concern with the support network around you. Mental well-being is important for all and the responsibility of everyone involved in the high performance system.

2. Contact the RYA via phone or email

Should you have concerns, direct them confidentially to the RYA Safeguarding Team, on safeguarding@rya.org.uk.

3. RYA Signpost Support

Once concern has been raised, the RYA will support you in the next steps and the options moving forward. We will lead on signposting the appropriate support through the NHS or Private Health Care Services.
