Everything you need to know about sailing at this year’s Olympic Games

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games take place from 26 July – 11 August 2024, and Team GB’s sailors will be going all out to maintain their status as the world’s leading sailing nation.

The 10 sailing disciplines will be hosted more than 400 miles south of Paris in Marseille, with the Roucas Blanc Marina (renamed Marseille Marina for the Games) welcoming 330 athletes for 12 days of fierce competition from 28 July – 8 August.

How to watch

To watch the action from the Olympics live you will need to head to Discovery+. A £6.99 subscription will get you access to every moment of Paris 2024, including all of the sailing taking place on the Marseille and Corniche racecourses and all medal races. The BBC will run some live coverage plus daily highlights shows, as per Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.

The British Sailing Team social media channels will bring you all the goings on in Marseille as they happen. Check us out on Instagram, Facebook and X, and give us a follow to stay in the loop. The British Sailing Team will provide daily updates with all the latest news and info.

Meet the team

The fourteen-strong squad of British sailors and windsurfers includes returning Tokyo Olympic medallists Emma Wilson, John Gimson and Anna Burnet.

Great Britain is one of only three nations to have qualified an entry in all 10 disciplines, including debuts for kiteboarding and the foiling windsurfer, the iQFOIL.

Team GB have collected 31 golds and 64 medals in total since sailing was first introduced to the Games back at Paris 1900, making Britain the most successful Olympic sailing nation of all time.

This year, an exciting blend of experienced Olympians and talented first-timers will aim to maintain Britain’s place at the top of the sailing medal table when the action begins on 28 July.
